August 23, 201114 yr Sup TIF, it's been a while. My external HDD has somehow gone from NTFS to RAW filetype, and I'd rather like to avoid formatting it. Disk management says it's healthy, so I suspect something has just gotten corrupted and so in theory I should be able to recover stuff; but I can't find a clear answer on it. Any suggestions to what I can do? Many thanks :) "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
August 23, 201114 yr Did you scan it for errors? Can you backup the stuff that's on it? It would be best to just re-format it. My Blog
August 23, 201114 yr Author Can't and no, it is the backup disk to what's on my laptop. I can deal with losing it but it will be a real pain, not everything on it is on my laptop. It would be easiest to format only in that it would require least effort. "In the beginning, the universe was created. August 23, 201114 yr Copy what you´re missing from your laptop back onto it or onto a disk using this and reformat would be my solution. Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.
