Scroll of Efficency

I plan on making approx 1k addy plates over the bxpw to raise 87-90(roughly, havent done calculations yet) smithing. I currently have 23k dungeoneering tokens. Buying a scroll of efficency would save me somewhere around 1m gp if i re-sell the bars i don't use.

 

Should i buy it if i eventually plan to max smithing even if it is a long term goal?

 

I am saving for a rapier, and having a very unstable connection makes me hard to dung with. I do large 5:5's etc, but my ability to do so is sometimes in question. I would guess at my 70 dung, i get between 4-5k tokens per floor.

 

Should i spend the tokens now and start making money or continue to save for a rapier?

Basically it comes down to 20k tokens vs 1m coins. At 5k an hour, that'd be about 250k per hour. Can you make that much money per hour? If that's easily accomplished, it's probably not worth getting. Now if you decide later that you want to go to 99 smithing for whatever reason, you may end up saving over 10m coins. That means you'd have to make 2.5m per hour to match the savings you'd get from the scroll.

 

If you don't ever plan to get past 90 smithing, don't buy the scroll if you can make more than 250k an hour. If you do eventually want to get it higher, it's better to get the scroll before you start leveling to see much more savings.

Well, that's only if he plans to stop smithing at 90 (which I assume you won't)

 

It's always good to buy those scrolls as early as you can. You should easily finish more then 1 dung per hour - and the exp only goes up.
