Praying in Jadinko lair

Well, just as a thought, I donned proselyte body + legs, rune xbow, book of balance, and a few other items, figuring on praying prot mage whilst ranging Jadinko males from a distance, albeit in the middle of the area. Next thing I know, I'm getting whipped by whatever Jade Vine roots were nearby! Damage itself wasn't big (mebbe got hit upto 20lp), but that can come from any vine nearby - four at once in my case! Not seen thata noted anywhere, so giving you the heads up.

I have found that there are certain spots that don't have any nearby vines, so you can range in safety, but it's difficult to completely avoid damage.
