Besides, there's so much hype about google, I've just about had enough of hearing about it ;) How can it be taking over if they're distributing them for free as opposed to the normal services that people have to pay for? By breaking that 'pay to get it' boundary, it not only creates better competition, it just helps everyone out. They're not really taking over things anyways. Much of what they've released has been on pretty new ground, like the original search engine obviously, but also google maps, google earth, and more stuff I can't think of right now.
