Malan_55
I've been playing runescape for about 5 months now and have never experienced a problem in the way it plays untill now. Recently i have been trying to log in and it would be totally fine untill the loading screen where it would really slow down to the point where the mouse what sketchy. I don't know whats causing the problem eitherive tried everything like deleting cookies, getting the latest version of javascript, and removing ad-ware, and every time i look at the screen where it shows how much memory is being used, the runescape website is running at 99%. Would someone please give me any suggestions or tell me how to fix this problem so i can continue to play runescape.

wahoo
We need more details. For starters, we need the specs for your computer. 2ndly, It cannot be "all of a sudden" on it's own, because otherwise it would still be working? Was runescape updating itself? Did you change any settings? Did you patch anything? Have you tried a system restore to the date before all this started happening?
Malan_55
ummm... i got a new web browser and i downloaded alot of programs on my computer. I have Pentium 4 CPU 1.70Ghz, 1.70GHz, 512 MB of RAM. I dont know if it was updating itself becasue it didnt say anything.
wahoo
ok, back up all essential data (and i don't mean programs you download by essential, i mean work work or possibly saved games) and then do a system restore to the date before this started happening. If this doesn't fix it then we will know it's probably not going to be a software issue.

Malan_55
i did it all the way back to the first but its still acting that way... when i run the website my processor is running at 99% only on that website. All the other websties are totally fine. And as soon as the mouse enters the runescape box it goes realllllly slow. So i dont know what to do. wahoo
Then it is probably a problem with a version of Java you have on there. Try reinstalling java or updating it to the latest version.

Malan_55
what downloadable client?
_k0m0d0_
Make sure you run the runescape website in IE. Why IE, RS works just fine with all other browsers! Try downloading the client! ~komodo
starev91
Try downloading the client, and also try virusscanning your computer, you might've picked up a runescape based keylogger or other malware (bad programs) that has an interminated loop somewhere in it (careless programming on whoever made it, but good for you-it gets stuck on one instruction, but also takes up all your computing space). Just my thoughts on it. And, why IE? RS works fine on firefox, and firefox is better anyways :P I'm an opinionated guy about internet browsers :)

Phil
Ok you've said you've checked for viruses but also you should check for spyware and see if you need to clean your system. I suggest using adaware SE and spybot S+D, posting a hijackthis log here might also help. To the poeple saying that runescape works fine on other browsers... did you forget about the sound issue?
