Glacor Guide Revisions

Recommended Posts

I've been doing Glacors quite a bit since their release, and after becoming quite experienced at them, I noticed that a few things need changed in the Glacor guide.

Worn items:

First off, a Celestial Surgebox from Dungeoneering should be used with all setups, as it saves 3 inventory spaces as well as doing extra damage on Glacors/Glacytes. A Deflector should not be used in any circumstances over a CSB. I should also mention that a CSB does extra damage on the 5th consecutive hit on any monster, but on Glacors, it does higher extra damage. Normally a CSB does 25% damage of the 5th consecutive hit, but at Glacors, it does 50% damage of the 5th hit. Also, a Chaotic Staff would be optimal, as would an Ardougne Cloak 3/4 paired with a Chaotic Rapier. I noticed that the current setup picture has dragon boots, a fire cape, and a berserker ring. I think a fully mage based worn setup is quite a lot better, with a few switches during the Glacyte stage.

This is the optimal setup. Possibly a Seers (i), but with a Berserker (i) switch for Glacytes. I use Onyx (i) though, as it gets the job done just as good, with one less switch.

Inventory:

It may also be note-worthy to add that you can sustain your health just from Soul Split, and use a DDS for one special per kill on Enduring, rather than use an EEE. With 3 Prayer Renewals, 10 Regular prayer potions is enough for 3 overloads, assuming deflect/soul split and leech magic/turmoil every kill.

This is the optimal inventory for the previous setup.

I get ~55 kills per hour with this setup.

Other than the gear, the guide looks absolutely wonderful. Good descriptions of what to do, what to avoid, etc.

There is one attack missing though, but it is extremely rare. If by chance, the Glacor uses it's melee attack, sometimes it will perform another special attack. This attack is similar to To'Kash the Bloodchiller's special in Dungeoneering. You will be incased in a block of ice, and if you don't "escape," it will hit a fair amount of damage on you. As rare as it is, I don't think this is game-changing by any means, but it does happen once in a great while. I can provide images of this attack if needed.

That's all I can think of for now, hope this helps!
