Getting built-in Mic to work?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I currently have a Compaq CQ60-210US laptop and I was trying to enable my built in microphone but with no success thus far

-I am running Windows 7 (64-bit)

-I called HP and they can confirm I have a built in mic

-I tried talking into the voice recorder and got nothing during playback

This is what my recording device shows:

I downloaded the latest driver for that device also. Any help?

Thanks!

Hello,

please try the following:

In the menu you show in the picture, please right-click on the microphone and choose properties.

Go to the "Levels" tab.

Click & Drag the Microphone option to 100.

Make sure the microphone is unmuted. (make sure the image to the right of the slider doesn't have a (\) next to it).

Click Ok.

Re-test using the voice recorder.

Let us know how it worked for you.

Where did you take the driver to update it? If it isn't on the HP/Compaq website, I would go and download it from there.
