J35u5_M4
So, many of you might recall me asking how to change windows XP system language a few days ago, and the reply I got was that with SP3 I was able to do so, I just had to install it manually or wait for windows update to show it up. Windows Update just showed it up and it begun the installation, everything went smooth until it reached a part where it says 'Finalizing Installation' on the Details box it says 'Executing processes posterior to the installation' It's been like that for about an hour now, I don't know if the installation normally takes this long, or if there is something wrong? Last time it got cancelled because I rebooted my system, so the OS did a system restore automatically to remove what little SP3 was in it. And just today it asked me to install it again, along with the IE7 update. So, what should I do? Leave there until the end of times so it finishes? Sbrideau
It depends on what hardware you have on your computer, but it can take up to an hour. if it's there and stays there for a couple of hours, you're in trouble. Have you tried to install it without the internet connection plugged in?
J35u5_M4
No I haven't, it stayed for 3 hours so I said [bleep] it and rebooted, it did a system restore and now I'm manually downloading the SP3, I'm planning on running safe mode then installing it from there, found someone online that had the same problem that I do, and they told him/her that probably one of the programs in my computer is causing conflicts with the installation, so the best thing to do is go on safe mode, that way none of these programs will cause conflict, if that doesn't work then I'll repost here
lordkafei
Some sites I am checking say it will take well over an hour. MS recommends having 1500 to 1765 MB free disk space and temporarily disabling anti-virus software, antispyware & third-party firewalls during installation.
