I was mining and all the sudden I was in this maze and I can't open the walls and all I have is a pick-axe weilded.

If you look closely you will see gates in the fence which you can go through. Your object is to get to the center and open the chest as soon as possible. Sometimes, you can't move inward you have to move outward then find another gate inward. When the counter times down to 0 you will be teleported back to where you came from with any loot you got from opening the chest. Usually I get death runes, iron arrows and feathers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maybe someone can help you some more. I don't know if there is a guide for this event.
