This laptop I use to play RS runs it fine in medium/high detail except for LRC.

I also get the odd lag in edge but its not as bad as LRC

I am unable to even run it at that place in low detail.

Deosn't matter what world I use- still the same.

 

FPS is down to 5 there, sometime less when running to the bank

 

Any idea on what to do to improve lag/FPS?

 

ATM I am using Dirext x on min settings there,

Pc specs:

Intel ® pentium ® cpu p6100 @ 2.00ghz 2.00

4 gig ram

 

No idea whose those specs mean- just copied it from system specs :mrgreen:

Lrc (on the unofficial words) will always be laggier because you get hundreds, if not over a thousand players all cramped in there and of those players like 80% or so are in massive stacks at gold rocks, coal rocks and fish spots. So as soon as a s[pot changes you get inundated with loads of player models to render, even my super high spec desktop hangs a little bit on LRC spot changes.

 

Solution would be to use quieter worlds (eg 88 is still busy but less so than the main world) and turn your graphics down a bit more.

See my settings are down as far as they can go - and it doesn't seem to make much diff on the worlds I use (mainly 60 and 84) I still get lag/low FPS there even on 60.

The lag there on 84 I am not surprised about as it is understandable for the loading, and the amount of players there, but I shouldn't get it on the quieter worlds too.

 

Apart from boycotting the area I dunno what else I can do right now.

The servers are rather laggy to begin with atm so areas with a lot of players is just going to make it worse. They were suppose to fix it but it didn't really do anything. I believe they are currently trying to fix the problem though.
