Image Hosting

First, sorry if it seems like I'm a noob, but I no longer have access to the email account to recover my old Forum ID (Hence the 2 postcount). Second, I attempted to post an image hosted by imgur, and it said I wasn't allowed to post anything from that hosting site. I checked the forum rules, and saw nothing against it...where is that rule located, and why can't we post images hosted by imgur?

First off, welcome back. :)

 

You can fill out an account problem form and the administrators will verify ownership if possible so they can return your account to you: http://forum.tip.it/account_problem.php

 

Second, Imgur links are allowed. The message you described tends to pop up if you link to pages that aren't actually the direct link to the image itself.

 

For example, say I uploaded this image:

 

http://i.imgur.com/d2eKE.gif

 

The screen it takes me to when I upload it has this URL:

http://imgur.com/d2eKE

 

But this isn't the direct URL to the image. What you need to do is either:

 

1) Right click the image and copy the URL. Exact wording will change depending on your browser.

2) Use the direct image link, for Imgur it's on the right hand side of the page it takes you to after you successfully upload something.
