  1. Curious: is the fix w3c compatible (will it validate)? E: I am not a staff member. Just a curious board member. In case that's not clear >_>
  2. This is like your third time introducing yourself lol Wb
  3. https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/4m7ay6/teamviewer_has_been_hacked_they_are_denying/ News articles: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/06/01/teamviewer_mass_breach_report/ http://bgr.com/2016/06/01/teamviewer-hack-security-break/ http://www.csoonline.com/article/3078000/security/teamviewer-users-reporting-unauthorized-access-hack-suspected.html Official statement denying breach: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/company/press/statement-on-ransomware-infections-via-teamviewer/ As of right now the official statement from TeamViewer is that everything is fine. It's unlikely any vile individuals will give a rats ass about Runescape players, but I know quite a few people who use TV to play on their mobile phones. (especially old tipiters) The reddit thread has recommendations for other programs to use as alternatives, though I'm unsure if they'll serve the same purpose for mobile playing. Note to mods: While this is more pertinent to Tech and Computers, for visibility and RS account security's sake I'd urge you to leave this in GD.
  4. :twss: Just kidding that board was bad.
  5. Oh my god, you're back! <3

Kim! I can't believe you're still here. I saw that you retired and figured you'd have gone to moderator Valhalla where you do nothing but lock threads and ban noobs all day. :P Glad to see you still pop in once in a while.

  6. You've got to talk to Jagex, not a fansite. Good luck. You wouldn't happen to have any account offenses do you?
  7. I was a beta tester for Maplestory. (Still got the mark of the beta cap, SCRUBLORD/falsesuperiority) It was never particularly phenomenal, but it was a damn lot better than the shit it is now.
  8. IVP either owned or had majority share in Nexon, makers of Maplestory. They held the majority shares for Jagex as well a little bit ago. I don't know if they still do.
  9. I want to cry. Every game I've ever played that was passed into the hands of these essentially strip-mining (no puns intended) companies has gone down the shitter in a massive way. I really sincerely hope this doesn't go through, but I've resigned myself to cancelling my subscription at the first sight of ridiculous shit.
  10. A vote for Saradomin_Mage is a vote for Democracy.
  11. Did they? Thank you. I didn't see a follow-up Q&A anywhere, so I greatly appreciate the information.
  12. Yet still no word about the Maj aura. Even though they're affected in the exact same way. :/
  13. There are maybe a few things, but it would've only delayed the inevitable for reasons you've already pointed out. To achieve those things would've required more hands on deck than the staff actually had available at the time and a few other factors. It just wasn't meant to be. But that doesn't mean the path the site took was the wrong one, don't get me wrong! Just different. Still, hail reddit.
  14. I don't think it's fair that the users who did this were treated as bug abusers. We discussed this a bit in my clan not too long ago actually. Someone made a good point that in order to rollback effectively, a ban would have to be issued anyway. Most seemed to agree it was necessary since the gp generated was never projected for the game's economy. I can see the logic in that, yet the players still have bug abuse on their account history now. It's just not right. It's a shitty situation where there was no perfect solution, but still. It rankles. Ignorance is not an excuse for bug abusing, yet buying and selling to stores has been so long a part of RuneScape that it's hard to imagine every participant did so knowing it was an unintended feature.
  15. Was I always a fountain of sunshine? No. Was everyone on the team? No. Did the staff interact with the community in positive ways? Yes. Did they work on behalf of the community because they cared for it and shared a common fondness both for the site and the game? Yes. I watched people come and go for years, bringing both good and ill to the community. I watched mods discussing policy, dealing with some really vile people, trying their best to keep a place for reasonable discussion without being as harsh and demanding than the official forums or other places. I watched crew work tirelessly on site content, bringing some really amazing tools and guides over the years. I watched the community praise great updates and simmer in irritation for bad ones, with debates in between on the virtues of each passing update. I took part in helping train batch after batch of new mods, as did many other moderators, and trying so hard to find people who were willing to step up to the role of either moderator or crew. I watched as TET worked their asses off for a small group of people, making fun events and grand times, until they were disbanded. I saw the creation of the monster hunting team, where members still labor to take people to popular boss spots. I saw some really creative writers and thorough editors take place and produce content for the Tip.it Times. I watched as clan staff made tournament wars and ranking systems for the fledgling group of clans that briefly called Tip.it home. I watched as people posted research and findings, data and amazing hard work, that left an imprint on the greater runescape community as a whole before they went to create their own site to further their work. I watched people cheer on Paperbag's exp race, Suomi's 5b in all, and all the competition in between. Topics that tracked the f2p community, that discussed prices, that laughed and joked over more normal things in the Off Topic boards, and so much more. If you were offering just a personal impression, I wouldn't have bothered with this post. Everyone experiences everything in different ways. You're entitled to a difference of opinion. But you're not, are you? You're saying, flat out, "This is what it was. This is all it was. This is what happened." as though you were actually there, seeing things you in no way were able to see without actually being a part of the community.
  16. They were selected for their community participation, initiative, and maturity. Their personal opinions were their own. Implying that the staff were not only corrupt but actively trying to damage the community is highly insulting to the time they volunteered here. If you're seriously proposing that the moderation staff should've barred people from sharing criticism on a game update, I vehemently disagree and question whether you were actually familiar with tipit at all. For every person who was a habitual whiner there were at least three active tipit users who simply used the boards as a place to talk about the game and its updates pleasantly and with good will. If you never saw those people because the disgust of a troll or two, I am very sorry you missed out on a fun experience.
  17. Happy birthday sir.

  18. I originally didn't train on release out of sheer laziness. Now, I'm extremely glad that I haven't. But with volatile the changes have been post release, I'm honestly terrified to start training the skill.
  19. Ah man. I remember that upheaval quite well. The bottom fell out on almost everything as people panic sold for supplies. There will be an update in an hour or so, where they will be nerfed. Oh, I thought they said they weren't nerfing it? Granted I only heard that from a second-hand source. Guess they're not too thrilled with overnight 99's.
  20. It's crazy, with how connected everything is nowadays you'd think a local hobbyshop would be able to special order them for you or something, the shade you wanted. Me though, getting by. Dad had luck with his case so things have eased up. And you?
  21. Sally, did you hear about Totalbiscuit's tumor shrinkage? And how's the perler beads going while you afk cool runescape skillz?
