Okay, so I don't want this to be viewed as a real negative thread, but something that isn't super pleasant that can actually be discussed.

So the point is, what has been your biggest disappointment, in game? No, not microtransactions or things that can be viewed as company directions. Something that you played and you were let down for some reason. A example would be stuff involving pillars or whatnot.

So to start, I'll say mine was Ritual of the Mahjarrat. It was a fine quest, but as someone who played this game since 2002ish, I had slowly been exposed to them through quests, then the chain they created up to the finale. Then when that came I was so looking forward to it... until it became focused on the return and rise of the Dragonkin. It seriously bummed me out that the focus had been diverted to something else.

So, anyone else want to share?

I actually remember being disappointed when I realized the great mythical "North" was just that region of snow with the ritual icon. Even as I was doing RotM, I kept thinking we were going to travel to some continent far north of the wilderness that would be this awesome mystical Mahjarrat realm.
Then the quest was over and I was like, oh..that was the North.

Especially with a few references as well about others being from The North. Not only that, but its not even that far north. Didn't have to be big, but c'mon...

Hated the end of the cave goblin quest line. They had the perfect set up to make zanik a true war god, but a protector who would look out for the goblin races and advance their society instead of the petty, childish brute they turned bandos into at the end. Would have also been a great tie in for the dwarves since they have pretty much been left to rot now. Could have joined the zanik faction with guthix gone.

But no....another pillard quest.

Biggest recent disappointment - how V's return went down.

Biggest recent skilling release - divination/invention and it's broken promises.

Overall disappointment - the release of MTX with no change to how content access works. (Pay membership, and then pay extra stuff on top. Because!)

Dunno if that qualifies since you had no prior knowledge or expectations. Your disappointment was with a decision they made. And probably anger over the glibness of their handling of it.

And Kim, the cannibalizing of the original Inventor skill for TH promos was totally dick.

And why move the topic, it was a question, but it was meant to be a discussion...

As it currently stands, it fits better in questionnaires. This does not mean there cannot be any discussion within this subforum.

I was once banned for having [bleep] and ass in my username. So I started over as a Sabre, but gained no addy plate for joining said clan.

Move it from a dying forum to a dead forum? Thanks...

And the thread died. Thank God you moved it to the "proper" forum.

In my experience which sub-forum a thread is in means absolutely nothing to it dying or not.

A good thread will flourish wherever it is put, the reason this thread died is simply because people are not that interested in it - we don't want to be negative and whine and look back and say 'what if' and join your perpetual pity party of boohoo everything is ruined that you drag around to every thread. I mean it's not like you thread didn't get viewed - people looked and then left without posting because it did not interest them.

We want to look forward to what is to come and enjoy what is happening now.

Don't go trying to drag a good mod doing their job right down or imply there is some huge systemic flaw with the forum just because your thread died due to lack of interest.

Just like many of the other threads in this subforum :P This subforum isn't dead because it's a subforum; it's dead because these kinds of topics tend to foster very short and shallow discussions
