Noxx
So i found out yesterday that it's possible for me to get Barrows Gloves on my Rune Pure. The thought never really occurred to me before so i never thought about getting them. The problem i have is that currently i'm on 111 QP and i'll need an additional 65 QP to get the Barrows Gloves. I was considering only getting Dragon Gloves since they would require a lot less work to obtain, but if the difference between Dragon and Barrows gloves really is worth that much (in terms of PvP), then i'll suck it up and get them. Then, i've been training some Strength the past few days in hopes of getting it to a level where i could actually be competitive at Melee PvP. Thus far i'm sitting on 87, and i've been doing alright with Melee fights, but Dragon Scimitar just seems ridiculously weak and the best i can ever muster is maybe a 250 or 270 hit, which really means i'll need a spectacular Claw Spec to get the kill. Now i was wondering, if i do end up getting Barrows Gloves, would 90 Str suffice, or would i be better off just getting 95? (I don't plan on getting 99 simply because i want to keep my Herblore Cape untrimmed). And then, are there any other training spots i could use? At the moment i'm usually at Skeleton Monkeys with Salve (e), enough extremes for an hour and enough Spec Restores to last me (i use D2H spec as often as i can).Anything else that could bring me about 80k Str exp/h? Noxx
Just going to bump this up cause i'm adding a question.I've decided to go for barrows Gloves. i'm about 20 Qp off them at the moment so i should get them in the next few days. My problem now is that i'm unsure whether or not i Should get prayer up.I'm pretty sure that if i do the last few quests i need to unlock Curses i'll be pushed over 40 Def, so the next step will be 45 Def obviously. As things are now it probably doesn't make too mcuh of a difference because i'll eventually have to get 50 for Rune come EOC.Anyway, i've been thinking about getting up Prayer now. I can afford 95, but i'm not sure if it's really all that worth it because right now i usually PvP against people that don't have it, and if i do get it i'll probably only get fights against people that do have it. So it's going to be the same either way. The other thing is, i'm not sure just how useful it would be in EOC since i have not really done much testing on that myself. What i was initially thinking was to get 77 which would allow me to use Piety, Rigour and Augary (Rig and Aug being the two i would use most often while pking), but i'm not sure what happens with them in EOC. hdis
If you are a rune pure you should just go to 45 def - make sure to do this through questing though. I suggest 45 at least. On your rune pure, the thing is people may be fighting you with 99 strength and granted it isn't that big of a difference, but a difference still at that. Also wait to get 95 prayer; albeit you can afford it a doubl exp weekend is coming up and that is a great way to spend it. TL;DR - Get 45 def. Don't be stupid and get your cape trimmed. Noxx
Yeah i went ahead and got 45 Def through quests. Got barrows gloves, curses and hand cannon unlocked and banked 95 prayer. I'm not 100% sure if double exp will "stack" with altars from what i've read it won't. I already started training prayer and i'm just short of 80 at the moment. So i might just go ahead and try and get it done before that weekend so i can turn my attention to higher firemaking (assuming i don't have ~90 by then [so hand cannon blows up less often]) and higher Str. hdis
Yeah, double exp will not stack with altars. You can add me in game too if you want to talk more about it :D
