I was trying out a different shading method so how does it look

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It looks like a lemon. 8) But a very cool lemon, indeed. The shading is very nice, but I think you were going for a sunset/rise? The sky's background wouldnt be only blue, and the reflecting light over the water wouldnt be in just one spot.

Yeah, picture how the moon is reflected on the ocean...it's a line, not a circle, because water's surface is not smooth like glass. Since you were going for shading specifically, I would say that the shading looks pretty good, except for where the lighter water fades into the darker. It looks strained to me. :?
