any good suggestions on how to kill the fire monster at the end of the quest

Weight reducing armour, ranged weapon, run lots, light fires when she goes berserker.

1 fire = 10 damage for successful hits.

So more fires = better hits.

 

Also weapon and armour stats are entirely meaningless, she hits the same regardless of what you wear and the damage output is entirely based on fires.

What the above poster said is correct, I used darts personally as it's nice and fast. I just lit 5 fires then went to town on her, when the fires goes out i repeated it until she died. When shes goes white-hot just lure her over the water.

Whitehot/beserk phase luring is a waste of time.

 

You can't attack her BUT it does expire after about 30 seconds or so, therefore it makes the ideal opportunity to light more fires so you maximise damage as soon as you can attack again.
