Need Fight Kiln Advice

Hi community,

I recently set a goal to complete the Fight Kiln mini-game. I've completed the Fight Caves in 4 attempts and have yet to start Fight Kiln due to the fact that I've read guides and its much more intense. Anyway, I'm pretty low combat level (102), but have seen a video of a combat level 60 something with the same amount of prayer and summoning beating it. Here are my current stats:

attack: 80

strength: 99

defense: 60

constitution: 97

ranged: 97

magic: 92

prayer: 45

summoning: 1

I realize that my prayer, summoning, and defense are lacking here. However, I was thinking about doing the whole thing with range / mage. I'd use ranged throughout until i needed to heal, then I would just use ancient magick blood spells to heal up when I get a chance since my prayer is too low to do so. I'd obviously be using prayer / restore / saradomin flasks as well, but I'd have to experiment with how many of each I'd need. Would I absolutely need to bring a melee weapon such as chaotic rapier? If so I'd think I'd just use Sara top and bottom to preserve my prayer somewhat. Does the Vampirism aura work in here?

Since I'm only 60 defense, I would be using black D'hide for range armor combined with rune Xbow and broad tipped bolts / diamond bolts(e). As for the mage gear I'd only bring ancient staff / arcane stream necklace / mystic robe top & bottom to save room for death / blood runes for blood blitz, and flasks.

So my final question is: Is this doable? Gaining the recommended prayer and summoning levels are out of the question as I want to keep my combat as low as possible. However, hopefully the basic protection prayers with flasks will be enough. I could always wait until i get my con/mage/range to 99 as well. Most of the guides I've read have said that it's mostly knowing where each wave spawns. I am mostly just worried about inventory space since I have no summoning, but I'm lost on what I'd actually need to complete it. Any suggestions or other guide links would be much appreciated, thanks!

You absolutely need all three combat styles. Monsters in the kiln have a 50% damage reduction against the style they are strong against. If you don't bring a melee weapon you will only do 50% damage against the rangers.

No you don't.

I've done it with just Ranged and Mage multiple times before on my Zerker. I managed to get to the boss several times as a 1Def pure, 20 Def pure and Rune pure without using Melee in any of those attempts nor did i use a Familiar at all.

Only thing you will need to realize is that the whole process is going to become a while lot slower.

What you need to do is Mage the Rangers and the Meleers, and Range the Magers. Use PPS with something like Blood Barrage or Blood Blitz to heal. Use your Brews only when you REALLY need to. You want to try and keep as many as you can for the Boss if it's your first time.

Gear i would suggest (this will be Low Budget gear) is Royal D'hide Chaps and Body, Karil Xbow, Fury and ASN, PPS, Mages' Book/BSS, Infinity Boots, Mage Cape, the mage gear just below Gano (No idea what it's called), Barrows Gloves, Tokkul-Zo, and a Neit Helm.

I might have missed something.

As for inventory (i'll assume you have no overloads):

Your inventory will already have the following:

Royal D'hide Chaps

Royal D'hide Body

Rune Pickaxe

Karil Xbow

Fury

Then i would take 10 Brew Flasks

5 Super Resotre Flasks

3 Prayer Renewal Flasks

Rest of the space you can just leave open. Use the "L" shape rock for the first 20 Waves except for the Jad waves for which you would use the middle rock.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Above method is really slow. Takes about an hour 15 - an hour 30.

You've got good Melee skills so i don't see why you would not use them. Heck i would even use Melee in the kiln if i had 60 Attack and 90+ Str.

Just take a Whip, some Rune Legs and a Plate and you should be fine. Could take either a Dragon Defender or BSS.

If you're still worried about having to eat to often, still use the "L" shape rock for the first 20 waves as this will lure everything to minimize the potential damage you might receive if yous slip up. Again, this method is slow but probably one of the better ones to use for players new to the kiln.

Thanks for the quick reply, I would like to use all three combat styles but I'm just afraid that I'll run out of inventory space. Right now I'm thinking about waiting until 99 con / range and maybe 95-96 mage... which shouldn't take too long. Getting 200k tokens is also going through my head for chaotic rapier since whip doesn't have a strength attack style (80 att is where it stays). PPS seems like the best staff to use so I'll pick one of those up, and I have dragon chest / legs to bring for melee since I'm 60 defense if i decide to go that route to speed things up a bit if I can afford to sacrifice the inventory slots. What about any kind of food that stacks? Would those be worth bringing to spam heal? If so, which ones? I also looked up the vampirism aura, and I'm assuming that it does work in the Fight Kiln, so I'm thinking about picking that up as well for an extra 5% life leech.

If you need stack-able food, the best option is Purple Sweets. If you find yourself needing those, at your level, you're doing something very VERY very wrong. You should not need them at all. Inventory space might be a bit of a concern to you though, at 1 Summoning, if you choose to use all 3 Styles. Probably why i would suggest just sticking to two combat styles (Mage and Ranged) since i'm guessing you're only doing this for a cape and not as a money making method.

Getting 99 Ranged and Mage and 99 Con isn't going to change much either, to be honest.

Alright thanks, I'll give it a go with mage/range this weekend when I find some time. One last question though: would it be wise to conserve prayer by not using it during the early waves and just heal up with blood spells? I'm obviously going to need as many prayer/restore flasks as I can get in the later waves since I'll only be working with 450 prayer points.

Ehh, when i did the Kiln with 52 Prayer i used only 2 Super Prayer Flasks. Granted i had to do the last 50% of the boss with 0 Prayer. I still think you'll have enough Prayer to use it the entire time, you just wont be able to use any booster prayers except for Jad and Har-Aken (or whatever that fish is called).

Alright I played a little bit this weekend and managed to get a decent attempt in. I made it to wave 29 and died due to running out of prayer flasks. That attempt I brought the following:

death runes

blood runes

rune pickaxe

royal dragon chest / legs

rune xbow

prayer flask x9

super restore x4

sara brew x8

one empty slot for crystals

at wave 29 I still had 5 and a half sara brews left before I just let them kill me. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to get 94 herb to gain access to super prayer pots?
