December 17, 201213 yr I'm attempting to get back in to runescape after a long break (more than two years.) I couldn't recover any of my old characters so I decided on making a new one. I'm currently at 42atk/40str/40def and trying to train it, however I can't seem to find anywhere to train with this new EoC combat. I'm trying slayer tasks, but it seems like even the Canifis master gives me too difficult tasks. Is there a good monster from 40-50 or 40-60 or with EoC is grinding combat not the same. Thanks in advance.
December 17, 201213 yr Are you taking into account monster weaknesses? They are pretty important in EoC.
December 17, 201213 yr Author I have been, but most of what they assign me is weak to magic, which doesn't help me train melee combat.
December 17, 201213 yr Looking at random monster on rs wiki I found: Flesh crawlers - level 56-58 (stronghold of security) - weak to stabCockatrice - level 64 (relleka slayer dungeon) - weak to crush *requires mirror shield*Cave crawler - level 76 (relleka slayer dungeon) - weak to slashMoss giant - level 40 (Chaos tunnels) level 74 (west of fishing guild) - weak to slash Should be something decent there. Remember to use a two handed weapon if using abilities (not on cockatrices) or dual wield if using momentum for best xp/hr. December 17, 201213 yr Author Fleshcrawlers are probably the best xp/hour, except they are swarmed with bots. The loot drops are relatively good. Would I be better off with something that takes multiple hits for more xp, or do something like al-kharid warriors who I can almost one shot?
December 18, 201213 yr Since xp is now awarded per kill, not per hit, speed is your friend. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P. So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...
December 18, 201213 yr You want to kill things that minimizes the times not attacking, and minimizes overkill. Overkill is hitting lower than you normally would because of low target HP - for example if the target has 10 hp, and you roll a 1000 hit, you lose 990 damage that you would have done. So, lower level things aren't always the best to kill.
December 18, 201213 yr Since xp is now awarded per kill, not per hit, speed is your friend.Makes no difference than before, tbh.
December 19, 201213 yr Author I've started killing moss giants. I tried chickens and I could easily chain those kills together, but it's a little too demanding on me. Moss giants I can at least slightly afk grind since they're aggressive for a time. Seems a bit slow though, I think I need to kill upwards of 1500 moss giants to reach 50 attack and at 10 seconds minimum per kill, that's 15,000 seconds. Is 6-7 hours a reasonable time frame for 45-50?
December 19, 201213 yr Have you tried flesh crawlers in other areas of SoS? As I recall most of the bots tend to kill them near the entrance, but should be relatively bot free farther away. I've never actually killed them before though so this may not be the case. December 19, 201213 yr Author All the rooms seem to have bots except the single spawn rooms. However, the single spawns slow down my grinding far too much to be worthwhile. It seems moss giants are about equal kill times with double the experience. Just wish there was something better. (Like chaos druids before EoC, I used to be able to make 30-50 in a day even with the travel times back to falador for banking herbs (pre-taverly bank and lodestones.)
