Don't allow users to have large signatures if they're not allowed.

Every other forum I've ever used has a pop up saying "This image is too large" or something and will not let the user use it automatically. Tip.it didn't and because it didn't I assumed mine was fine without checking...

Seems like a very easy thing to implement and a silly thing to give "warning points" over.

You'll prob get a notice for discussing warning points but I agree. as it stands, you have to upload it to a host, check, edit it if its wrong and repeat until its within size. Hell, I got a warning point for being 3kb over, while in the past it was just removed and given a friendly reminder.

Is it possible to implement the limiter again, or is it unavailable with this version of the forums?

We currently have signatures limited as much as is possible in line with the rules, such as limiting the physical size of an individual image, and the number of images allowed. We are not however able to limit the file size of an image. I can understand this being a frustration, especially if your used to forum software which does have this option, and I will double check with the other admins in case this is something that can be enabled back that I am simply not seeing right now.

For now though, it is simply not an something we can do with this software suit.

It's physically impossible because the images aren't uploaded to our server so we have no way to grab the image and check it.

You don't get warning points in the sense that you're close to being banned. These things have always been logged, the only difference is that with this newer version of IBP you can see how many "logs" you have. But our actual policy hasn't changed at all. Warning points just signify how many times you have been contacted 'officially' by a moderator. So warnings and reminders both fall under that category. And we don't have a system like 5 points = ban. That's not how we work.

Some people use wallpapers on forums, it's kinda weird.

I'm yet to see one here on TI.
