if u hit its a 100% poison as well as every hit renewing the poison (iirc dds maxes at 6 but regardless each hit will renew the poison back to max potency).

 

if u hit a 0 the poison isnt applied or renewed

You can poison targets when you hit a 0.

Have no clue what the chance is of that though.

I'm aware you can "hit" a 0. Say your max hit is 29, you have a 1/30 chance of each number including 0 on an accurate hit. This is why at extremely low strength levels you still tend to hit a lot of 0's with high accuracy.

 

So this slim chance is probably those. Ergo you do need to hit accurately to apply poison.

Yep. This all changed with the constitution update, when hits were minimized at 1.
