Was just wondering whether anyone on here has a gilded altar they won't mind me using for free. I have managed to gather  7 inventories of dbones but there doesn't appear to be any open-houses on 301 or 330.

edit: two additional questions

 

1 - Without ancient, is magic training via combat still worth using over say teleport/high alch?

 

2 - In the live game, antifire potions does not offer 100% protection in conjunction with anti-dragon shield, against Elvarg. I am fairly sure I didn't use said potions when I did dragon slayer..but was just wondering whether this is current for OSRS as well?

World 31 Yanille, you'll find a gilded altar open 100% there all the time.

 

I don't know about magic training, but Elvarg cant be protected against 100% by antifires+shield as far back as I can remember.

Depends what you mean by "worth it."  Fire bolting metal dragons is the only remotely cost efficient way of training magic via non-ancients I can think of, but it's nice for the hp xp.  Try it if you want, though it won't be technically "efficient," not that that should matter too much anyway.
