For whatever reason my IP address changed and because of that jag does not recognize my device so it is sending an email to the registered email of the account. Since I haven't needed to touch the email in over a year I have no idea what the email address is.

I sent an email to jagex and it has been close to 10 hours without a response and I have heard most people get an answer within the first few hours of sending an email.

Does anyone know of anything else I can do to resolve this?

Jag isn't based off your ip in the slightest because that would be stupid since every ISP these days provides dynamic ips and thus everyones external ip is changing quite frequently, not to mention the fact it'd be horribly flawed in giving all devices on 1 network access because they share an external ip.

Anyway Jag is going away soon-ish thanks to the new authenticator and if you activate the authenticator it should override JAG solving your issue.

Also Jagex is useless at email responses these days best to bug @JagexSupport on twitter.

But for the future the easy solution is: Don't have multiple email address for different things that you do not use and remember. That in itself is a major security flaw because if you don't know what emails you have where you cannot be sure they are all secure or that you aren't being sent important security warnings from things registered to them.

Jag isn't going anyway now iirc, or else it's here for another year still. One or the other, was mentioned in the news post.

Fact about authenticator taking priority still holds though.

J.A.G. is NOT tied to IP address.

There were times where the client didn't load properly for me, so it thought I wasn't using the same computer and it triggered J.A.G.

I closed the client and reloaded it again and then it worked.

To add other examples of this:

1) Moving between university and home my laptop (and my desktop) did not need JAG reactivating whilst moving between the two locations - despite the fact both obviously had different external ips.

2) Trying to load betas on systems already JAG approved would trigger JAG again

3) Two computers on the same network (and thus the same ip as far as any external source is concerned) both required seperate JAG setups.

4) When my external ip changed needing me to tweak settings in mobile VNC to allow me to remotely turn off desktop from uni after downloads finished JAG did not require setting up again.

The notion of anything security related being tied to your ip is just insane - it is the most accessible piece of information about your on the internet at any given moment and it is quite easy to use proxies and such to make it look like your using someone else's ip, which you immediately bypass any ip based security measures. And that's before you consider the fact, as previously mentioned, ISP give us all dynamic ips at the very least your ip is going to be changing around once a month, but it could be changing as frequently as hourly.
