I've been hunting those for a couple of hours (from 80 to 82). I'm not using a bait. I've noticed that 1/4th of my catches tend to be common jadinkos. 2 questions:

 

- Is that normal or the outlay of my traps is not right ?

- Is it worth it to bother to use a bait ?

So I guess my outlay was wrong.

 

I see he using baits as well.

 

What's with the iron ore ?

Coal. Keeps your inventory full so you don't get seeds

Does binding marasamaw plants to the action bar quicken things?

Not really. It makes it easier to place the trap before the next tick, but I like to spam buttons so I'd end up dropping all of my traps instead of just placing one.

Personally I use the hotbar - less mouse movement.

 

I assume the xp becomes a bit better with the time. With that outlay I get 200k xp/h while the person in the video (description) claims 340-350k.

The xp rate only increases by like 30k xp/hour between 80 and 99. If you're averaging significantly less than like 310-320k xp/hour, you're making too many mistakes along the way. It might help to make a video of yourself hunting for the length of a hunter potion then compare it to my video.
