April 8, 201511 yr I'm having trouble upgrading my ranged weapons can anyone help me with some alternatives? i'm currently 41 and using a maple shortbow..any suggestions are great appreciated! also if anyone has any melee weapon upgrade ideas, that would help too. :3 Runescape is a haven..
April 8, 201511 yr You can get a yew shortbow from killing dried zombies in the Uzer swamp. Could also use adamant javelins and offhand steel knives, still better accuracy and damage output than maple shortbows. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
April 8, 201511 yr Med clues give lvl 40 ranged weapons I think. I just lived with dorg chow until 50 and have used salamanders since. Zaniks at 48 is another option.
April 8, 201511 yr Oh yeah, 2h swords for melee works. For rune, you can get a rune spear from Tai Bwo Wannai trio. After that dragon dagger set from Lost City. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
April 9, 201511 yr Train your fletching up to make yew bows. Steel arrows will suffice at first. Use Addy javelins, (you can get lots from Bronze Dragon drops), for Infernal Mages and Abberant Spectres. Do the required quests until you can get the Crystal bow. Pretty much last bow that you will need. My Ironman account.

April 9, 201511 yr 40 ranged: Yew Shortbow - from dried zombies in southeast corner of the desert. It's a really common drop and theyre easy to kill. Ammo: Adamant arrows - range guild (100) + varrock ranged store (30) 50 ranged: Orange Salamander Ammo: Marrentill tar 60 ranged: Red Salamander Ammo: Tarromin tar 70 ranged: Black Salamander / Crystal Bow Ammo: Harralander tar / bow repair 75 ranged: Handcannon - these explode pretty commonly now but you're gonna want to camp for dragon pickaxe anyway Ammo: Handcannon ammo
