Birdboy60
reporting friend is ... NOOOBISHHH naabs -.- 8) So says the guy with only one post... If I caught a friend of mine breakin the rules, I'd report them cuz we both know it isnt right. And besides, if they decide to do it, they should be prepared to face the consequences. Like getting totally wasted on Sunday. You're going to have a crappy next day... Also, I was in Varrock and a dumb idiot said: "Trimming armor for free!" I report him and lo and behold, a second imbisal says the same thing. I clicked the report button and that annoying 60 seconds message popped up. I waited it out, he continued to scream the message and I reported him too. About a week or 2 later I had 2 nice little replies from Jagex in my message centre... Heheheh, just doin' my "job"... Also, its funny that when I report a person, I report, then tell them that what they are doing is against the rules and explain the errors of their way. Never see any of them again... But their reaction is hilarious.

How can they offer proff, if u dun't give them the chance??!?!?!?!?!!111 Raichase, quit Runescape. Time issues really, nothing against the game itself. Something had to go, and it happened to be the addictive game that costs money to enjoy :) Best of luck to all of my friends here!
Whirliebird
Well.. Let me say something on the autoing... I have a level 3 account... And yes... A few of my stats are in the high scores... But I sit here... And get my skills up through my own work... While that's great, a sure sign of an autoer is having only one... MAYBE 2 skills that are high enough to be significant. Most normal players have many skills advanced (even "pure" players) and this is mostly NOT the staus quo for an autoer. No, that's not your fault... but I personally use it to help me determine whether or not I will send a report for macroing and so do my anti-autoer friends. This is simple common sense. See more below. I don't talk to anyone in public. I only speak to friends in private. 3 of which are mods. So... Just because I don't want to be bothered by all these annoying people calling me "noob" and trying to trade me... (Which I don't need anything from them) ...That makes me an autoer???? Again, this isn't typical of the average player... just food for thought. As for the "trading", I attempt to trade with suspected autoers because people who are sitting at the keyboard will speak up after you doink them once or twice because they either want to know what you're doing or WHY you are trying to trade them repeatedly. Obviously, once they speak up, I tell them the truth and then move on. Most players are very understanding after they know why you were attempting to get them to acknowledge you. Ironically enough though, some programs are good enough to accept trades from real players... and I've loaded an autoer with junk more than once. No, this won't stop an autoer from continuing to gain ess, ores, logs or whatever but it can and will slow them down a lot as well as let the real world person know that someone loaded their autoer with junk and that may be why they didn't get nearly as much product as they had hoped to gain! Think about it!! There's a misconception in that stereotype... So... Remember... Just because they're level 3 combat and have some decent stats... That doesn't make someone an autoer. While you are right in that you would NOT necessarily be an autoer just because you look like a newb player or the prototypical autoer, you also must consider the reality of macroing! People who set up single autoers or gangs of autoers simply will NOT invest tons of time into developing characters before turning them loose in the game. After all, they set up autoers to make MONEY or to level up their "main" and to do it as fast as possible. Ironically enough, a reasonable person who has a fair amount of skill can set up 2 or 3 seperate machines (or more!) that can run 12-18 characters per machine all at the same time in their bedroom at their parents house, in their appartment or in their house. After their characters produce a ton of ill gotten gain, they can then proceed to sell RS cash or items IN THE REAL WORLD FOR REAL CASH! Don't believe me? Take a peek at eBay and look at all the listings where people are selling RS cash for real world cash in ever escalating amounts. What's the bottom line there? People who are savvy could use RS to net themselves hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands or even over one hundred thousand dollars in REAL money just by using autoers to play the game for them. In fact, I read one story where a real person in real life was busted at their house for being involved in narcotics (cocaine distribution, etc) but the Feds found something really strange... they found an entire room loaded with computers and all of them were playing online games. At first, the feds thought that the computers were used as a part of the drugs but it turned out that they guy they busted was simply an online gaming addict and that he was using the computers to net real world cash! While I don't know if that person was playing Runescape (the article didn't say what the games were and my e-mail to the author of the story was never returned) I can only assume that there's a possibilty that they might have been. In the big picture... sure, on one hand I could say that if someone is smart enough to do that then more power to them but on the other hand I say that Runescape was N-E-V-E-R meant for this activity and that it effects all the players who DO NOT CHEAT! Just think of the "fun" factor... you are trying to play for fun while 10 other people are trying to play to get rich in real life. Where's the fun in that??? Besides, you can also look at it from the scammers perspective: they offer a ton of RS cash on eBay yet after you pay them using Pay Pal, they never deliver the goods, at which point you have to hope to track the perp down and regain your real life cash through the courts, which is mostly a money losing proposition no matter how you look at it. I mean really, what are you going to do? Spend $5000 trying to recover $80 via small claims court? I don't think so! As I've stated before, nothing burns my britches more than having to compete with autoers for ores or logs and if I could, I would goto that person in real life and take care of business... and that would not be fun for the idiot cheater. Overall, what's the bottom line for Runescape players? If someone says something to you in-game be it privately or publicly, it would be in your best interest as well as in the interest of the game as a whole to acknowledge that you are alive and functional at the keyboard.... and make sure that you reply in a conherent sentence. A one word reply uttered one time will never convince me that a person is really there since many autoers are set up with auto replies such as "No", "Not selling", "No Yews", "Yay", "Whatever dude", "Get away", "Go away noob" or something similar to those responses. In other words, you might issue a response that directly reflects the question at hand and make sure the person speaking to you knows that you're there. It only takes a little bit of time and you're going to be doing little but watching your player mine, cut or fish anyway so why not relieve the concerns of an interested player? At the end of the day, you'll seperate yourself from the autoers and you won't get reported to Jagex. See also my post in the thread titled "Are Macros REALLY that bad?". Party on!
