convulsive
I was recently hacked on RS. My virus scan picked up these files on my computer. VerifierBug.class Counter.class Beyond.class Worker.class Web[Caution: ExecutableFile] arc.zip-1eba227c-72e2dd00.zip I never download crap outta my e-mail, nor do anything that should get a keylogger on my computer. Is it possible that someone put that [cabbage] on my computer through my University's network? If someone can help explain to me how I acquired this keylogger I would appreciate it. Thanks. pooch
Could be loads of things. What protection have you got? Run a few scans via safe then run a HiJackThis scan and upload the results. Never clink links for a start, c/p them into your browser. Try to avoid IE and even FF. FF is the new IE.. Always scan ANYTHING you download before opening it, even summin as simple as an image and try to avoid sw you've never heard of :) I'd also be aware of some IM apps. Mercury is currently the safest (in my opinion) and acts the same as MSN, but with a few very usefull features, such as 'who's deleted me?' 'Who's blocked me?' etc :) Oops, um.. Yeah, loggers.. Run a few safe scans, run a log and upload it :)
convulsive
I have Zone Alarm and AVG free. The AVG is what just found the virus. So your saying that I could have gotten a keylogger just from clicking links? wtf. I mostly use firefox. Oh well thanks for the help. I guess the only safe way is running a scan before I log on to runescape anymore lol. The internet blows. Not too mention that those 6 files will not delete when the virus scan is finished...what should I do to clear them off?
pooch
Can you not delete them in safe mode? The reason it's best to not click links is referers. Mostly harmless but if you click from a URL based pw encrypted site, the host of the link will see exactly where you came from, URL and everything. If C/P'd, it wont have a referer If you can, try getting NOD32 AV and Outpost Firewall, they're not free but they're the best. Also run a few ASW's with one realtiming. Counterspy is pretty good :) Run the log and upload it, I'm sure a few people here will be able to help
himy_name_is
hmm... Its probably someone that is decent with java and was messing around so they made a hacker.. FYI... you can still use those to hack if you havent deleted them  . I dont reccomend it though.. Just delete them if they are in like system32... (thats your computers main processing thing).
