Which parts of the new quest do you have to be able to buy and wear (at least some) of the new gloves? Or do I need to do the whole thing to wear any?

Every section you complete unlocks a new set, Im currently at mith.

Each sub-quest unlocks a new glove. You have to complete the entire thing to get the barrow gloves.

when ever u did 1 mini quest u can buy bronze gloves,

 

then next mini quest u do unlocks iron, so on and so on, im currently on drag, got to get 175 QP to get barrows :)

before u think ill do the hardest mini-quest and unlock the dragon gloves its not like that you have to do like all 8 to un lock them and any 2 to unclok iron and so on
