its not loading?

I'm returning to runescape after a 3month break, but it isnt loading now for some reason. The loadup is stuck at Loading Animations - 79%, and it isnt the java app itself, cos normally when it turns white when i change window then change back. Anybody else having this problem, or had it?

The java console is telling me this(i've tried different worlds too), and i dunno what it means, maybe someone else can shed some light?

I'm guessing obviously its got a problem there, but I dunno what the hell it is! I'm on a router and got NIS 2005 on this computer, but I've never had a problem with it and I've had my router for 9 months, weirdness.

I've left it since that post, it crawled to 81% at some point, the logs got more of these though :s.

Still not suggestions? Never happened to anyone else? I've tried again since yesterdya, its now at 85% but still showing that exact same trying to connect to socket thing. I noticed a few other ppl on official forums are having the same trouble, but I cant post because I'm not a member yet and dont intend to be until I get it working. Although, if theres a very nice member reading this who would like to post on my behalf, I would appreciate it. *nudge nudge*

Well, I was having the problem on my laptop, so i decided to see if im having it on this comp as well. My Laptop specs are,

Windows XP

Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05

1.4GHz

352MB RAM

This PC is

Windows XP

Sun Java 1.5.0_06-b05

2.21GHz

512MB RAM

An this pc is having the same problem :(. The java console for some reason doesnt display as much detail here, but it does say;

Error: loaderror Loading animations - 77% 65

And, as implied, animation loadings are stuck at 77%. I'd get firefox, but my brother is being an idiot about it.

hmmm, have you changed Java types, install new java, all the things to run RScpe UP-TO-DATE?

Yep, I tried all of those, old javas new javas clearing java cache, clearing cookies, clearing exploerer cache etc. None of them improved it from what I could tell. So in the end i just left it for a few hours and it eventually seemed to load, but I'm getting worried if this is gonna happen every time they update runescape. The extra files take ages to update too, i'm feeling pretty sure its something wrong on jagex's side(i havent played for 3months, but even so the updates shouldnt take so long).

Whats your internet connection like?

I know i had this problem while i had a slow internet connection. I would start up, switch windows and it would be all white except for the flames. I ended up just leaving the screen open and i didnt swap windows while it was getting all the new updates and it worked fine after that.

yesh, i had that problem a few years ago, f you have a fast internet connection (faster than jagexs) you get connection errors and takes ages to load. but i think they fixed that

I've been able to get on, but I get dropped connection every minute or so(connection lost, attempting to re-establish), when i used to have bad lag, it'd just freeze a bit, then everything would happen quickly. My internet is aol broadband, and it isnt slow at all, I dont have problems with anything else but Runescape.

ok, im bumping this in case anyone else is having the problems. I'm actually on the game now, with serious lag/connection dropping issues, and yet my java log still keeps saying this;

0-5: set trace level to

Can anyone explain to me why its saying this? What it means, and if it should be?

I think it is a problem on AOL's part, something to do with their proxies or whatnot. Could someone who knows about java/this stuff explain to me what this means;

I'm having exactly the same problem on both PC and Laptop

I am also on AOL Broadband

I have also tried just about EVERYTHING I or anyone else can think of.

It always seems to freeze on 98% of the animations, then once in a while

it will freeze on 1%.

Last week I was able to get on eventually, I don't know how

But then as soon as they updated Runescape this week, bam, gone again

its not loading?
