Runescape Prepaid Member Cards!

I posted once and now again.

 

Card purchable at major retailers

 

1month=$7

 

1year=$63

 

 

 

When rung up that # is activeated

 

Log into rs and put in code and bam! membership.

 

U cna make it couple xtra dollars too. this would be convient

The problem comes in with manufacturing those cards. I doubt Jagex has the manufacturing facilities to make them and the cost for making them might make their cost prohibitive, although that is something to be looked into. However, don't hold your breath as doing everything electronically is much cheaper than putting out paper versions.

 

 

 

But, something like this, even if it is an electronic gift card and not a physical one, could be a nice way to help a fellow runescaper celebrate special events. Grandparents could use them as gifts if they know their grandkids play. Friends could send them to each other for birthdays and other occasions. I supose options could be set up, including a generic gift card which could be used on any account, and a specific "gift" which could be given to a specific character.

 

 

 

For example, say I know a friends birthday is comming up. He and I play all the time together. So, for his birthday, I send his character a member gift. On his b-day, or as soon as he logs in afterward, he recives a message through the Jagex message center which gives him a personal message from me and an auto portion of the message which tells him about his gift.

 

 

 

But, Jagex can see this as detrimental as well, because, if a lot of these gifts are purchased at the same time, it may look like there is going to be a large influx of new members, when most of them are going to a few users and need to be spaced out over time. The specific gifts don't have this problem, but the generic cards do. However, the generic cards can be used for any account you may have and not aimed at a specific one.

I like that idea, it would be buyable teh same way as you would buy an runescape membership for you, also if you could set a date for when it was going to be recived.... like u could buy it a week or 2 in advance if you know your going to be away, you'll forget, or god forbid you spend the money on yourself :twisted:... other wise great idea. I do agree taht the prepaid will never be done because it's to much to produce.. for it to be sold in place and stuff... jagex just isn't big enough.. i'd say when you have to have 50 in a skill to get into the highscores (just because theres so many people) tahts when the time is right :P
