Bass guitar - Im looking for one

Featured Replies

And i need help picking one..

i want to start learning bass, but i dont know were to start, what are good brands, and good bass guitars to start with at a reasonable price for a noob.

Agile make very, very good quality instruments for their price. Any of those basses would be great for a beginner, and a few of them would last you a good while.

Very nice, thank you for the site :)

If you're not looking to spend a lot of money

Ibanez Basses are pretty good

If you are looking to throw around a lot of cash,

Then Jackson basses are to my own preference.. great playability and sound

just look into getting a squire p-bass

there's not much else that could beat a cheap squire in terms of being quite a realistic bass for a newbie.

Just looking through agile:

Seems to be unbelievable for the price. Definately check that out if you can dig the looks.

Squier's are horrid playability.. not to say the Fender counterparts are much better

Hmm, im actualy gunna look into an acoustic bass.. :) i dont like amps quite so much.

Not that I know anything about it. But it might be useful to go to a shop and get information there. They can probably give you better information than you would get on the forum. Just an idea though.

Provided you don't go into a chain store. Stores like Guitar Centre etc will just try and sell you the most expensive piece of [cabbage] they can. I can give him just as good advice on what to buy as any shop assistant could.

Encore and stuff are quite sleek and great newbie basses :)

New account, Golem54.

Plus, if you're not gonna relive your avvy, they last 4-5 years.

I assumed that when you will get your first instrument you won't get it at somekind of shop that isn't interested in giving you the best information. And I wasn't saying your information was bad, Dan, it just seems better when you go to a good shop for your information than randomly ask people on a gaming forum.

I would reccomend against getting an acoustic bass if youre just starting, theyre unbelievably hard to play since theyre oh so ridiculously big

Yeah, not to mention the action on a low-end acoustic bass will be horrible.
