I'm wanting to do Monkey Madness and I've been told that there is a Monkey you have to fight sometime before the Demon... I've been told that there is and isn't by about 500 different people, does anyone actually know?! If there is, about where in the quest is it and should I use melee?

Whoever told you that was lying, this quest is mostly about avoiding all the monkeys, you never have to fight them.

So if it's recommended that you use range or mage on the demon, why do you need the super set?

When you fight the demon run and get some distance look for a ledge climb it and let the gnomes kill it for you.
