I have a few questions, as i have never used a slicing tech until now, but i wanna know if what i want will be really hard or pretty easy, i will post a pic of my layout for a visua(it's not fully done)l, I always want the site to look the same except for the info changing in 2 areas, one would be on the left side of the vertical bars, what i want her is when i click on the buttons i want hyperlinks to appera( so if i click on the picture button, on the left side hyperlinks such as prom pics and friend pics links appear) then when i click on the hyperlink on the left on the right side of the vertical bars the content appears(text, tabels with pictures and such) i have never used the slicing thing like i said but i have adobe photoshop and dreamweaver, so would this be hard to do? if you guys can help in anyway, let me know, also does the site design look ok so far?

I'm not quite sure what a slicing tech is, but the image and functionality you have described is quite possible :) I'd suggest using server side includes (using php, for example) so you don't have to copy the code onto every page.

You might be tempted to use frames. I'd reccomend against it.

Have you got any webhosting yet?

I woudlnt reccomend making that design, slicing it up in photoshop then turning into a website. Really sloppy code.

Out of interest, why not use frames, and are there any situations, in your opinion, when frames can be used?

What are the alternatives to frames?
