This is due to an update which is about to be made to RS2.

 

 

 

We are about to update the RS2 chat system (for the first time in years), to have a new (hopefully better) swear filter, and a new string handling/compression system which supports accented and foreign letters. It's pretty much a complete rewrite of the chat system.

 

 

 

All this means the RS2 chat system is about to become completely incompatible with the RSC chat system. So it's just not technically possible to talk between them anymore.

 

 

 

So a purely technical reason for the change. Since we don't update RSC anymore, and RS2 is continually evolving they gradually become less and less compatible. To be honest I'm amazed the chat between them kept working as long as it did.

hmmmm i dont like the sound of the new better swear filter hopefully that means it will block less, but i doubt it probably just mean yet more rephrasing of normal scentences so they dont end up getting blocked while those who want to swear can still get round it

there was a thread at the begining of this year that said that jagex was going to go into other languages such as japanese, and he mentioned some others but i don't remember.... he also talked about more mods, which is coming true, so it IS reliable

the palyers who have experienced rsc when it was main game know that this is awful

 

the game has already been hit many times:

 

1.no f2p wlds

 

2.no hiscores saparately

 

3.no updates (separate even from rs2 ones )

 

geesh kmon atleast show some respect...

there was a thread at the begining of this year that said that jagex was going to go into other languages such as japanese, and he mentioned some others but i don't remember.... he also talked about more mods, which is coming true, so it IS reliable

 

i hope NOT japanese becuse i cant even type thier names lol.. so that would be pures to.

Yeah I realise the downside of what this will do and is pretty crippling for rsc. I personally love going on classic once every few weeks and this wont help at all :(

I don't think that you can make accounts with ÃÆÃâÃâäÃÆÃâÃâÃÂ¥ÃÆÃâÃâö's in the names, it would be too stupid. There are keyboards which don't support these characters. Same goes with japanese characters.
