Looking for some sound isolating earphones for my iPod.

Featured Replies

I don't want to damage my hearing so I need some earphones that cancel out outside sound completely or almost completely, so I can listen to my music at low volumes. Also, I want them to enhance the sound greatly. I listen to slow Metal mostly, so I don't think I'll need bass, right? Just some that aren't too expensive, please.

Thanks.

What do you call too expensive?

Shure E2c are great for that and cost around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã60, as are the next step up - E3 at around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã110.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

I have a pair of Apple's In-Ear earbuds - they cost me $40 USD and work great. With the volume up not very much at all, outside sound virtually disappears.

If that's cheap for you then damn...

But they work, a lot of people at LAN's have them, lucky bastards :(
