Merchants and Investors? What do you think....

Featured Replies

I currently went through bank and sold off a large amount of stuff I wasn't using. Also with 85 slayer I have a little more cash in the bank so...

I wanted to put my extra cash into some rare items rather have the money just set there in my bank.

So my question is what do you think about small rares versus Purple PHAT as an investment?

I currently have: 3 Santas, Red and Blue Mask, and 4 Whips. I could probally sell them and get together enough for Purle PHAT.

Do you think that the PHAT will rise faster then the small Rares combined?

Do you think investing in raw materials is better then rares?

I am no merchant so any advise on this would be great

If you're looking to buy a rare, then sell when it goes up, then go for a PHat. All rares rise but phats are faster.

Offline and unavailable.

phats rise fast but often not at the same time as other rares. Look for a time when phats or masks/santas are down and invest in them, sell when they have risen. I would also sell those whips to put into rares as they will not be rising.

One more thing, don't invest in Santas. Price hardly ever increases, even over a prolounged time.

Really?

I bought 3 at 8.65 and now they are sellin from 10-11m?

What was price last yeaR?

Are red masks better or ??

Definitely invest in any phat you can afford and then trade it + cash for the next more expensive phat. Sell those whips asap as their prices are dropping. I sometimes have a hard time selling my whips for 3mil each nowaday. I also have 85 slayer. I just bought a green phat and I'm saving to trade it in + cash for a red. Phat prices increased by at least 10 mil in last 2 weeks.

Just me advice, it's up to you to decide what u wanna do. btw, santa sell for 9.5mil to 10mil in rs forums.

good luck to you.

well last year santas were like 5mil in the run up to xmas... so year they have gone up a fair amount but nothing compared to phats... blues were like 130mil last year and are now double that (btw this might be incorrect as im not a merchant and have never invested in rares as i think there a waste of time)

i would say get a phat...

or

instead of investing it do some skilling thats expensive to raise quickly but pays off in the long run, e.g smithing or magic

99 Range - 88 Defence - 91 Hitpoints

99 Combat - 1650+ Total

actually, id go with the small rares.

a purple is what 90m?

then this is how I would divide it up for max profit:

mask set = 40m about

6 santas = 48m. or 2 blue masks and a red. or, which i think would be the best, 1 santa, 1 blue, and 1 red.

say santas increase 100k ea in a week = 600k. plus a mask set may increase possible 1m a week which equals 1.6m possible a week. ofcourse masks do increase more. there was a 1.5m jump in greens (im NOT talking about the giant santa/mask jump) a few weeks ago. so the combined increase of all these would definitely be greater then that of a single rare.

Also, these rares spread your peices throught the board, which gives you a giant advantage
