best F2P weapon/armor

what is the best weapon/armor that a non-member can equip, and if possible list the going rate for the item

I'm assuming you mean melee. The best armor is full rune. To wear a rune plate you need to have done the Dragon Slayer quest (and a rune chain isn't that far off of it if you can't). The best weapon is disputably the rune scimitar. It is of the fastest group of f2p melee weapons and yet is still very decently strong.

 

 

 

You need 40 att to wear the rune scimitar and 40 def to wear full rune. Full rune is ~100k and a rune scimmy is ~20k. Those are my guesses on the prices though, I'm not sure.

Well there are also god armors. They have the exact same stats as rune, but they have designs from the three gods on them. They're much more expensive than normal rune (though Guthix < Zamorak < Saradomin) and look different.

 

 

 

If you have even more money you can buy rares like santa hats, halloween masks, and party hats. They're all extremely expensive and show off your extreme wealth, but their stats are horrible. Not only are the stats next to nothing, but they also will keep over nothing so if you ever lag+die while holding one, you will lose it if you're carrying like anything else.

 

 

 

 

 

So no, there's no better armor, but there are definitely ways to spend your money.

Yea statistically full rune is the best armour. Weapons are disputable but in my opinion the best weapon is the rune scimmy for F2P.

Ok, so you obviously know that Rune is the best. These are my thoughts for a weapon.

 

 

 

- Scimitar: Rune Scimitars cost 25 - 28k. They are easyily bought from World 1 Vrrk West Bank. They have good speed, and hit pretty decent. They are also fairly accurate. A good option for an all rounder.

 

 

 

- Long Sword: These cost 20 - 30k. They are a bit harder to get from other players than a Scimmy, but they can be bought from the shop in the Champions Guild. They have a bit better Slash stats than a scimmy, but they dont look as good. :D Another good option for an all rounder.

 

 

 

- Battle Axe: Also known as a Baxe. These cost 40 - 50k. They are obtainable from other players, mainly from World 1 Vrrk West Bank. They hit harder than a Long or a Scimmy, but they attack a bit slower than usual. A good option for people who are willing to substiture a bit of speed for more power.

 

 

 

- Two Hander: Also known as 2hs. These cost around 50k. These can be bought from other players in World 1 Vrrk West Banl. These hit much harder than Scimmys or Longs, and a bit harder than Baxes. Unfortunatly, they are very slow and you cannot weild a sheild with them, hence the name '2 Handed Sword', because, well, it requires to hands to attack with.

 

 

 

- Dagger: These cost around 10k. They are very fast, but unfortunatly they are very weak. They are a good option to train with on lower level NPC's because of their fast speed, but not recommened as a First Weapon.

 

 

 

My choice is the Batlle Axe or the Scimmy. Although everybody else suggests the Scimmy, the Baxe hits higher. I can hit only 12 with a scimmy, and 15 with a Baxe.
