PKing... starting to get interested

Lately I've been getting a lot of offers from PKing clans about joining and I've been considering if I should join a nice F2P clan because I've been told my stats are pretty acceptable. The thing is, I know practically nothing about PKing. I'm a F2P player, so that should make things pretty simple, but I still don't know much about strategies, equipment to bring, or even if I should be melee, range, or mage.

 

 

 

If it helps to know my stats, I'll post my combat stats:

 

 

 

Attack: 80

 

Strength: 80

 

Defence: 80

 

Hitpoints: 80

 

Magic: 68

 

Range 69

 

Prayer: 52

 

COMBAT LVL: 98

 

 

 

I'm basically asking for any advice and tips that any of you have to PKing with a clan, or just PKing in general. Do you think I would have fun with the stats I have?

Melee, just wear:

 

Rune Scimitar

 

Diamond Amulet

 

Rune Large, Plate, Legs and Kite.

 

Green Dragonhide Vambraces

 

 

 

In inventory take:

 

1 Strength Potion (4)

 

Rune Two-Handed Sword

 

26 Lobsters

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mage, just wear:

 

Fire Staff

 

Sapphire Amulet

 

Wizard Hat and Robe

 

Monk Bottom (small prayer bonus)

 

 

 

In inventory take:

 

(x) fire runes, (4x) air runes. Bind runes.

 

Lobsters.

 

 

 

 

 

Just attack who your group attacks, and stay in the middle of the pack,

 

remember to pot, and use your prayer wisely (ie. when a lucky hit is needed, or when you are almost out of food).

Alright, thanks for the tips. Do you think I should go out strictly as a melee attacker or a mage?
