June 1, 200620 yr Iron - yes, even without a ring of forging! On average, 6 iron ores should be 3 bars, at 37.5 XP each, smelted & smithed = 112.5 4 coal, 2 iron makes 2 bars, at 55 XP each = 110 Iron is faster to mine than coal, cheaper to buy than coal, but there are drawbacks. 1. A full load of iron means waiting for 28 furnace actions, averaging 14 bars, instead of just 9 actions for steel (also "smelt X" - 30 instead of "smelt 10") 2. Iron stuff is worth a lot less, so the iron route works better if you mine your own ore for free, though you also lose money if you smith steel instead of selling the bars, but bar making is the smaller part of the total XP.
June 1, 200620 yr i would reccomend smithing steel nails out of your steel bars and not switching to another metal - now that members have a use for steel nails, f2p are going to become major suppliers, and you can sell the nails for 100 ea - thats 1.5k per bar! Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.
June 1, 200620 yr Author Thx for the info. About the steel nail, I already try by providing free nail smithing, but no1 wants it :(.
June 1, 200620 yr I suggest that u make iron bars and make pl8s out of them... It is like the easiest way to lvl up smith lvl... But it takes hell lots of time though... Lvl up smithing need patient... If u have poor patient, then I suggest u should buy the bars instead... I did this and i got my smith lvl frm 35-43 in about a week... Not fast though... That is why I hate lvl up smithing... :(
