Getting Photoshop.

Featured Replies

I am thinking about getting the new Adobe Photoshop because I hate PSP, and was wondering whether I should just buy it straight out, or should I buy Photoshop 7 and the purchase the upgrade?

Thanks,

Why do you need CS or CS2? If you can't tell me why you need those specific versions, why would you be getting them?

YOu can always try the GIMP. It's free, so you don't have anything to lose, except the time to try it out.

I am wanting to get them because I am into graphic designing and stuff like that and I find I really can't work with paint shop pro, but before I buy them (if I do) I will try out the trail to see if it is any easier to use.

I think I have The GIMP somewhere on my pc but I can't find it, but if you reccomend it I will have another look for it and try it out.

You missed my point. I asked why you think you need the latest versions over version 7 - they contain only minimal upgrades; to be honest I'd be happy using 7 right now.

O rite sorry. Well if it only contains minimal upgrades then I will give photoshop 7 a try then, and also The GIMP at some point.

Yeah, you won't notice much of a difference at all past Photoshop 7. I learned how to use the program on 7 and when I upgraded to CS and CS2 I didn't notice anything strikingly different.

I'm interested in computer graphics and gratefull that i have photoshop cs2.

The cs2 heal tool can select a part of the image to use to heal the other part.

Cs2 can copy parts of an image and paste them in perspective.

Many more filters and a new smart blur and smart sharpen function.

Although these things aren't all that important, i'm sure it is possible to do these things in ps7 but it may take slightly longer, i'd say go with ps7 unless you have any real use for the new functions.
