str and att experience?

well i'm training my att to lvl 60 so i can use drag weapons. so i'm down killing hillies when suddenly my str goes up a lvl, i was like, what!? and it was set on the right attack. so then i go to the bank sence my inventory was full. when i come back it was still on the same attack and when i looked he was now getting att exp! with the same attack!? maybe i'm missing something but does this always happen when your using a halberd?

Yes, halberds are controlled weapons, and give experience to all 3 combat stats while fighting with it, same goes for spears.

hallys are meant to train str, thats why their highest stat is slash, which coincides with the second option, which...... trains strength!!!!

Halberds have three settings: control, aggressive, and defensive. So you'll train either all three, str, or def.
