What monsters drop either, large quantities or air runes or drop them frquently??

Giant mole and KBD drop them 105 at a time, quite commonly too.

In the Bestiary you can type in keywords. You can also find out which monsters drop the thing you are trying to find. I've got the one for air runes here.

Wouldn't mining ess and making airs be the fastest?

you'd honestly want 50 or 55 rc for airs...

 

 

 

50 gets you 3 pouches and 55 is 6x air per ess.

 

 

 

as for mining ess for airs, never use pure ess on airs if p2p.
