Computer Suggestions?

Okay I am not extremely pro at computer so I was wondering if I could get some advice. Right now I think my computer's motherboard and HD are broken and the guy at the shop said so too because it occasionally freezes in the middle of nowhere and even the mouse stops and you can't do anything but power it down. I formatted HD + reinstalled windows after like a couple of tries but it still sucks and I'm pretty much sure it's broken. I was just wondering is it better to replace the motherboard and the processor or to just get a new computer?? Getting a new motherboard would probably mean getting a new processor too because mine is obselete.

The broken comp is one that I built like 4 years ago with an Athlon 2500+ on the Asus A7N8X but the motherboards designed for it are obselete so I don't even know where to get one. Should I get a new MB with the new processor or just get like a cheap prebuilt computer???

Specs:

Athlon 2500+

512 MB DDR400

80GB HD - 1/2 broken

Radeon 9700 - can keep this thing I guess

No other special things

Also, any good websites to get a cheap but decent prebuilt computer like Dell or whatever? Tired of building this stuff

Thx appreciate it

Anyways, if i was you i would buy a new hard drive and see if that fixes the problem, if not the rest depends on how satisfied you were with all the other aspects of your computer besides the HD and mother board.

for me, dell is a no-no, my grandpa recently got one and it didn't even come with a cd to re-install windows!

if you need a pc that runs games(from looking at your old pc's specs) go for:

http://www.ibuypower.com

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

you can find some pretty good deals on those sites, dell/hp/compaq/exc. dont bother if you want to play a game other than RS, unless you have like 2k$ for their "gaming" line

if you decide u want to just buy the parts hit up newegg.com

A new computer is a must. I would suggest newegg ifyou are in the US if not i have no idea where to get. But for the love of all things good stick with AMD I personally like the 3200 socket 939 newcastle series. If ur graphics are PCIx16 then ur fine if not buy 1. Finally go with at LEAST a gb of ram.
