In elemental workshop, how do you get the ovens got enough?

 

I have pulled the lever near the water, turned the valve, fixed the bellows, and used the stone bowl to put lava in the furnace. It's still doesn't get hot enough. And when I put more lava in, the message: the hot lava makes little change to the searing heat of the furnace (or something like that)

 

Have I forgotten something? I've followed the guide.

 

Help me please, cause I'm a little spooked here :|

Make sure the water is flowing and the air is blowing before using the ore and coal with the furnace.
