sorry if that didnt make any sense but what im basically trying to do is get my name back on the ip thing instead of my ip address. like how when i log on rs before i got broadband, it says u last time logged in from "humanclay"

 

but now it lists my ip address instead... any idea on how to get it back to the way it was? i realize i got a new ip when i got broadband but im not sure where to change it back to human clay :oops:

 

 

 

also another little question, whats the best program that picks up keyloggers? coz i run regularly my spybot, adaware, windows defender and the results are all clean... which is suspicious to me coz my comp has never been so clean lol... i dunno maybe im just paranoid though lol

well if used to use dial up or something i guess it would show humanclay. cause if you didn't know the ip changes with every time you connect. also, i personally think that when it says last logged in from [ip address], i feel safer because it's my ip. and i'm the only person who has it. whereas if somebody else also logs onto my account and it says my rsn or another ip address i'll know that i've been hacked or something

hmm yea i see what u mean but which is safer? i mean if people hacks into ur account and see's ur ip address, can they use that to harm ur computer? coz if all they see is "human clay" wouldnt that be safer?

well if you have a firewall they won't really be able to do anything. and especially important that you password that firewall. with a really unique password. even if you just have a router that's enough to stop them. but it's always good to add a layer of software protection

If you want to give your computer a name and you're running some flavor of Windows, here's how to do it:

Note that this won't do a whole lot if you didn't change it in the first place; chances are the reason it's not showing up is because your ISP changed something at the local gateway.
