beniscool218
A Background I have been training slayer recently, and while doing so, I began to think about what slayer actually was. It was a skill designed to help you raise your combat, obviously; but what else was it? "Slayer" can mean just a person killing monsters, or in a way it can mean a bounty hunter. This is where my idea comes in... The Update My idea is that slayer should be more "bounty hunter"-esque oriented. For example, you receive a normal task of monsters (with a number), and now, the slayer master also names a special gem/item, which you can show to the slayer master, and you can receive money. Now you go to the monster's location. Then, once you start killing them, you have options. You can either kill the monster until you have finished the numbered task, or you can kill them until you get the gem/item. Doing either one of these finishes your task. However, there is more to the gem/item system. To answer an obvious question,"Well, can't you just kill different monsters until you get their special gem/item, then just show it to the slayer master?" The answer to this is simple. Jagex should have the technology to only allow the special object to be dropped when you have the monster as a task. This should answer that question. But now your asking,"But why does this make it any better?" Well, I have come up with a solution to that too. By continuing killing the monster until you have the special gem/item, and receiving this item, you can them turn it into the slayer master for a "Slayer Point". This is similar to Pest Control. You can keep turning in the gems/items until you want to spend the points, then which you can use them to gain experience in any combat skill (including slayer!). So, by killing the monster until you get the certain gem/item, you can show it to the slayer master for money, *OR* you can turn it into a "Slayer Point". Conclusion By doing this, all that is being accomplished, is putting a little spin on the slayer skill, and making it a bit more fun and profitable. *Note: You cannot get money and experience from a single gem/item. Well, I liked this idea, and I hope you will too. Just say if you agree, and I will put your name on the petition below. Thanks! Slayer Update Petition: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Click here. Outsanity
I've heard many good solutions to spice up the slayer skill, and I'm sorry, but for me, this just is not one of them. :? |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|

drgnrider
this would be too complicated because think how many new gems for each monster would have to be implimented. And that fact that they are only dropped while you have that assignment would be hard to program. This idea just isnt worth it though. You did however write a very well thought out suggestion =D>
Riptide Mage
And that fact that they are only dropped while you have that assignment would be hard to program. Actually it would be extremely easy and would look something like this: If targetMonster.isSlayerTask() { targetMonster.setDropGem(true); } ----- The downside to this suggestion is that sometimes a person would want a long slayer task; I know that I love getting large tasks of fire giants and lesser demons because they are easy to kill, and I wind up with alot of slayer exp. You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Well, actually, the tasks are still numbered, and you can get the drop and finish the numbered task. But you can only finish the task with one (e.g. You get 150 lesser demons as a task, and after 10 kills you get the drop. The task isn't over until you've turned in the gem, or you've killed 150. You still get slayer xp, until the task is over, you just now have an option to end it earlier. Click here. If you go there good things will transpire.
