Some forum sections working at normal speed, other sections responding slowly if at all.

or maybe your own ISP was acting up ? Theres way too many things that can come into play regarding a website loading slowly. As far as i can see , theres nothing on the server end that would cause half of our site to load slowly and not the other. It also depends on how active the forum is , if theres 200+ users online and a good deal of them are all submitting posts , then yes , the posts table in the database could slow down a bit while it processes and stores all that info.
