Making Money (cash, gp, dinero, whatever...)

Featured Replies

Hiya everybody, I have been playing runescape for a good time now and every now and then I see the people with the good stuff, ya know, the dragon scimitar, the Abysall Whip, the stuff that makes you feel poor. Ofcourse when I asked these apperently rich and happy players how they made all their money they say generaly 1 of 4 things

1) Get the (swear word or multiple swear words) outta here freeloader!

2) Raising skills

3) Merchanting

4) Smell my underwear noob

So, I was wondering, what exactly is "Merchanting" :?: and how much money and a f2p get with it. Cmon everybody, help a guy in the ghetto of runescape...

Merchanting is basically just buying something cheap, looking for the right deal and selling it at a higher price.

Example: I buy a Dragon Chain for 16mil. And sell it for 16.3mil Which is 300k profit (Price sold - Price bought) that's all merchanting is really.

A free player, if truely lucky enough can make millions. Very hard to do, and can start off with any amount really - just a decent amount helps to speed it along quite faster. And in the long run, easier trades and less time spent on finding the "buyer/seller" for you.

Start off with maybe coal as a free player. Depending on the amount, buy enough coal 100+ will do, for lets say 150 each or so? then sell for 160-170 each. Until you can work your way up to the big boy stuff. :D

alternatively you could mix a bit of merchanting and raising skills, such as buying coal 200ea and iron 100ea, smelt them to bars and sell them 600ea, 100 profit per bar and free smithing xp. Needs decent amount of money to start with, but If you know your sources, it can be a really nice profit.
