Chicken
Alright...I know it's illegal to use a copyrighted image, but what if one recreates, from scratch, an almost perfect replica of a copyrighted image. Is that legal? It's an issue of intellectual property I think because it was the original creator's idea. Anyone know? Thanks -Chicken
Keiphus
Depends on how you exploit it I think. If it's pure coincedence, the creator of the image who holds the copyright can ask you to remove it from wherever you are using it. The thing is, if they hold the copyright, you can't really "prove" that you made it up and had never seen thiers. As far as they know, you looked at theirs and tried to trace it. Kinda lame I guess... I dunno for sure though, but I think that is how it works.

For example, one sig customer of mine wanted a picture of the playboy bunny logo in his sig. I looked at a picture of it, and I drew it. I didn't trace it, I just used the picture for reference. Is that alright? Here's the sig btw- -Chicken
Greatsilverwyrm
I think with that, everyone knows what it is, and you're not trying to take credit for it, so it's fine..
Shaw
:drools: Chicken, that is awesome. And I think as long as you don't recieve any type of real life profit from it, then it's okay to use. Was that sig pure Photoshop? Omitting the animation of course.
