Bank Holiday Weekend

Featured Replies

What did everyone get up to on the rare weekend we call Bank Holiday? Think this only applies to people in the UK? Sorry!

I took a trip to Notting Hill Carnival, spent a small fortune on jerk chicken (yum... I want some more :P ) and ghana flags, whistles etc. for my boyfriend. The music was amazing, and some of the dancers were just  WOW. The carnival plays a mixture of soca, reggae, bashment, hip hop and RnB. Also some traditional African drumming and loads of steel drums etc.

Trying to leave however was a different matter, the number of people was staggering, and trying to move through them while the floats were passing, was mission impossible.

So anyways, despite police suspecting carnival to be a site of terrorist attack, no such thing occured, and it truely was a great day out.

Hmmmm what did I do, nothing special. Keeping track of time in the holiday's is hard though #-o

Don't people in the UK have bank holidays like once every month? That's what I heard anyway.

Sounds like you had a good time though.

I have no idea you know, I didn't think they came around all that often! I heard that other countries had many more than the UK did, but I could be wrong?

You should know, you live there!... Anyway my sister's boyfriend lives in London, so that's whom I heard it from. Maybe not all of UK has it as often as once a month? :-k

He made it sound like it was once/twice a month. Oh well, 8 times a year is still pretty much.
