As of today I've been unable to load runescape for some odd reason and I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem... cause I know its not my anti-viris or spyware software as I've turned them off and still doesn't work so... I don't know what to do... or I'll wait until tomorrow I guess and see if that works...

im having same problem, it loads hell slow up until the choose high or low detail then just doesnt load anymore. ive tried loading through browser and through client and neither work.

its not just you. The players online dropped from 120k people to 75k in a matter of seconds.

Same thing happened to me... I was logged on, logged out and tried to switch worlds, and they would not load. Possibly something with Jaugx servers that time? I tried rebooting and nothing helped. Came back 3 hours later, and it worked perfectly. Must be there servers or a hacking attempt (such a DDOS). Bonus computer geek points if you know what that stands for without googling it :-)

denial of service... and I really doubt a group of people would bother to ddos a runescape server, and if they did they would have brought it down, not have 30 people drop.

Distributed Denial of Service (zonda missed the first D :P ) attack. It's nothing special to know an acronym. Now pay me.

 

 

 

It was most likely just some routing trouble somewhere on the net. It's happened may times before.

 

 

 

Anyone with the power to bring servers down with a DDOS attack doesn't waste their time on RS servers. They have bigger targets to go after. Same goes for anyone that can truely hack a server. The data centers Jagex will also have competent staff that know how to mitigate a DDOS attack. You'd be stupid to host a few hundred servers and not. :P
